SFChron: Cold-Climate Syrah

by TomHill » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:21 pm

Terrific article in today's SFChron by Jon Bonne on cold-climate Syrah. He captures well the thoughts many of us have been having for a number of yrs. EhrenJordan's comment on Cornas/NorthernRhone not being a Mediterrean climate are spot on. Lots of good friends in there...AdamTolmach, EhrenJordan, BobLindquist, TomDehlinger, SteveDoerner.
A highly recommended read.

Interesting article. Pinot Noir has been grown along the Niagara Escarpment, in both Ontario and New York for several years and recent plantings of Syrah/Shiraz are now becoming available.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
