From Bierzo, Spain. Popped and poured with leftover roast beef and paella from Valentine's Day dinner.
Dark red-violet. At first, some alcohol heat on the nose that's a bit difficult to get past. Underneath the heat there's ripe cherry fruit and leafy mint aromas. Medium-bodied, dry and savoury with good balance. Leathery. Tannins are rather gentle at this point making the wine quite approachable. Long finish. Very good but not particularly complex and definitely less impressive than the last time I tried it over a year ago.
