Their very first words:

"Don’t let your lifestyle be compromised!

You never settle for less, and you’d prefer never to drink another wine that has scored less than 90 points."

Oh my.

In a similar vein (ingoring wines "under 90", whatever that means) we also have http://www.90pluswines.com. Except that 90pluswines does it better in principle but has a website that keep timing out.

What do the wines TASTE like? And what is the TOP score? Perhaps it is 110 points.... Amisfield Pinot Noir 2005 is probably fairly good pinot. But 99 points?

And did anyone mention the colours..?
Cheers,
Neil Courtney

There was some discussion about this site when it launched a while back. It's the remains of the failed online wine magazine for 20-somethings formerly called "Wine X."

I now understand why France is against alcohol advertising on the net.

My God.

The ok Hook and Ladder Gewurz is a 99 and "as good as it gets"? All the H& L wines seem to get 98 or 99. Wonder the connection.

Definitely a candidate for worst ever.

Wine X was a sorry mag, too.

I can guess ... a no-degrees-of-separation connection with the same PR free-lancer at H&L and JustPoints, if I'm not mistaken.

I couldn't make heads or tails from that page, but I found these two pages much more revealing . . .

I should want only the "numerical score without all the flowery descriptive baggage"? I've been making it more complicated than it needs to be!

OK< everyone, may I call your attention to http://www.brianswinepoints.com. Just send a case to my address in Vacaville. Note, on Brianswinepoints.com, we only review First Growth and cult wines. :) No Hook and Ladder, please. :P
