2005 Domaine Richou Anjou Chauvigné (Loire) This wine is crisp and clean with a hint of sweetness. Bright lemon cream pie flavors with plenty of refreshing acidity. Very enjoyable chenin sipper and a deal at $12.
2005 Domaine du Vissoux (Chermette) Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Traditionnelle (Beaujolais) A few months back, I thought this wine was heading into sleep but a couple of recent TNs prompted me to try it now. One can’t have enough of this wine. Aromatically closed for a few hours then opened up into a delightful mix of dark fruit, cinnamon, and earth. It’s a subtle, pleasing wine with excellent balance, softer chalky tannins, and cleansing acidity
