WTN: 2000 Laurent Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru

This turned out to be a nice little bottle, esp for $29. I was concerned about provenance since it was the lone soldier.

The edges are darkening, but this has a delightful bouquet of autumn leaves/pine needles and mushroom backed up by florals, red cherry and a hint of baking spice. Medium bodied and still fairly tannic, but there's enough acidity to keep things fresh and lively, with solid length.

I'd buy this again for $40 or so.

No mention of oak, though spice makes an appearance. Sounds like a nice drink.

Very, very subtle oak, there was a nice spiciness though. This particular bottle was a Table & Vine surprise, tucked in amongst scores of other bottles. It's my new favorite shop - even if it's a one and a half hour trek.

Can't wait for the home opener!

The NYT article last week about vintages said that 2000 is the Burgundy vintage to drink now...

Laurent sucks.

Peter, you've been away from an offline for too long.
