1992 Jos. Christoffel jr., Auslese** "Ürziger Würzgarten", Mosel, Germany
Massive perfume of petrol. Then a juicy, concentrated fruit of yellow stone-fruits with a subtle acidity and a deep, deep minerality. Very light on its feet with 7,5% and without any problem I could drink a second bottle. Fresh like a summer-breeze and despite its age there is no hurry to drink this wine. Perfect mix of fruitsweetness, acidity, minerality, finesse and a certain lightness of being which is so typical for Mosel-Rieslings. YUM,YUM.......

The late release wines from Christoffel Jr. have been enjoyable, though none have truly moved my Riesling soul. Still it's a great way to get aged Riesling.

Yes, it is not a Riesling to contemplate, BUT so delicious and enjoyable.
