WTN: 2006 Dönnhoff Felsentürmchen Riesling Spätlese

2006 Dönnhoff Felsentürmchen Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (3/30/2008)
Paired with Thai green curry. Peaches and cherry mingled with sweet herbs and minerals on the nose. None of the 2006 heaviness on the palate, rather an elegant, lively wine that starts with gentle sweetness and finishes clear and refreshing, leaving memories of fruit. The balance is impeccable, so cellaring will only bring good things.

Damn David! As I may have mentioned, I missed out buying a case of this in favor of the Schlossboeckelheimer Felsenberg Spaetlese. I won't make that mistake again. Thanks for the note.

You do all right with the Felsenberg. It's the same vineyard.

You're right David, it could be worse. At least I didn't buy Australian Riesling!

Day 4 and this stuff completely rocks!

Normally I find that wines get kind of flat/flabby, but this is 5 times the volume and totally delicious. Wow.
