After tasting through a frankly awful range of wines from Pellegrini (oaky, dill, bitter, yet sweet), I was happy to see an old friend, Jon, who listened to me by buying us a bottle of, once again, the Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba 2005. Is this "profound"? Nope....but the mouth watering acidity, chewy character, great blackberry fruit, savory notes, and hint of bitterness on the finish say to me: Great daily drinker. At $15, I find this wine very, very nice. Sadly, this was the last bottle at WineStyles. Hope they can get more!
