Some wines from the Chaine des Rotisseurs Manila General Membership Meeting.

Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 - Quite hot. High alcohol, tannic but with good, food-friendly acidity. Very dry. Lacks a bit of fruit for balance.

Alexander and Wayne Cabernet Franc 2003 - From Santa Ynez Valley. Lots of aok on the nose with follow through on the flavor as well. Medium-bodied. Lighter than I expected. A bit disjointed. Not bad.

Bogle Petite Sirah Port 2005 - At first, hollow. Some airing gives it much improvement. Baking spices, a touch of fig and plum. Sort of like a dryish ruby port. Simple and a bit short. Just ok.

We also had a Descendientes de Jose Palacios Bierzo Moncerbal 2003 but unfortunately, I was unable to take notes before the wine ran out. I do remember it didn't make much of an impression on me as I found it closed for the most part.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
