WTN: Pipers Brook Pinot Noir 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Apr 11, 2008 7:08 pm

Tasmania.

Fairly deep cherry red in the glass.

Cherry, earthy, tangy on the nose.

Quite tangy, black cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, mint, earthy, a bitter edge, fairly good weight, somewhat viscous, good acidity, quite rich.

This is a special bottle for me as it was my "coming home" gift from my stepson, who returned to Canada last month after spending almost two and a half years living and working in Australia and Tasmania.

Thank you Adam. It was delicious.

Hi Bruce,

Pipers Brook is about the best pinot I have ever had from Australia. I had one about 3 years ago that was very good to outstanding in quality. Definitely a cut above.
