WTN: Not your Godfather's Sangiovese ('06 Pride)

Well this sure ain't Chianti! While the bottle says 500 ml (yep) there's enough wine in there for 750 ml. Ripe berries and less wood than normal for young Pride, this is not some medium-bodied, high acid wine but rather full-bodied and rich. It's not over the top (Pride is one of the few high-end CA wineries that I say that about), but conveys definite California roots. The alcohol is mostly in check (only picked it up a little in a 75 degree room-should be better at a more wine friendly temp) & it's a fun wine to drink. I can't drink much of really over the top/heavy wines, and the fact that I managed to polish off the 500 ml of this is an indication that it's not a total gob-fest. It was actually a pretty good match with Asian marinated pork.
