WTN: 1999 Potel Volnay Taillepieds

by Jacques Levy » Thu May 01, 2008 1:43 pm

We had this with chilean sea bass, zucchini, and rice.

Shiny and bright purple color, nose of cherries. The fruit is fresh and vibrant, very focused. It is much more accessible than the 1999 d'Angerville Volnay Champans we had a month ago. A little tannic still, but that should resolve itself in the next two years or so. Excellent.
Best Regards

thanks for notes. I'm a Potel fan, but don't own any of his 1999s any more. He seems to have done well using the family rep to secure good fruit.
