WTN: Cortes De Cima Chamine Red 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Thu May 01, 2008 7:22 pm

Vinho Regional Alentejano

A blend of Aragones and Syrah.

Very dark cherry red in the glass.

Spicy, very juicy cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit, red licorice, tobacco, slightly sweet, chocolate, tarry, very rich and deep, not much acidity, with a moderate bitter bite toward the end.

The wine took a while to open up, but once it did, it was quite big and rich, with very forward fruit.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Thanks Bruce!

Sounds like something that would go nicely with filet mignon.

That is an excellent price Bruce (when I look at the prices here). I have tried some wines from this portfolio, the high end ones I find rather "international"(grin).
