Stupendous, what an intriguing Riesling!
But first my special thanks goes to Rainer Guntermann who brought this bottle to Berlin. Normally, I have some difficulties with matured dry Rieslings, but this ´90 impressed me despite the fact I am an confessed young-wine-drinker. Flavors which reminds me on fennel and anise. Mea culpa, but this Riesling is really difficult to describe. Despite the age a certain freshness and purity. I addition an convincing structure and no doubt Mr. Dönnhoff is a Riesling master. Finally, good to see that a dry Riesling could age so well.

Yes, but only a little bit. Here is the TN:

That´s big cinema! Massive perfume of petrol. Then a juicy, concentrated fruit of yellow stone-fruits with a subtle acidity and a deep, deep minerality. Very light on its feet with 7,5% and without any problems I could drink a second bottle. Fresh like a summer-breeze and despite its age there is no hurry to drink this wine. Perfect mix of fruitsweetness, acidity, minerality, finesse and a certain lightness of being which is so typical for Mosel-Rieslings.

I'm glad to hear the Donnhoff showed so well. I have some Donnhoff Auslese from 1990, but no trockens.
