Deep ruby red wine with an expressive nose of red rapberries, strawberries and oak overtones. Luscious mid-palate of nicely balanced elements of red fruit, acidity, sweet, smooth tannins and well-integrated oak. Medium long finish of juicy red fruit with a tannic twang at the end. Medium bodied and a good sipper but really nice with food:
Nice match with quesadillas and refried beans on spanish rice. The cheese of the quesadilla matched nicely with the acidity of the wine and the tannins and beans married nicely on the palate.
Wine: 2005 propiedad rioja by Palacios Remando 14% abv. About $20 and I would buy it again.
