WTN: Knappstein Enterprise Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

by Jay Labrador » Mon May 12, 2008 7:57 am

From Clare, South Australia. Nearly black. Sweet oak, rootbeer nose. Very tannic, oaky. There's good Cabernet character coming through beneath the oak. Strong stuff showing ripe fruit and coffee mostly, but with a citrussy acidity in the fairly long finish to lighten it a bit. Alcohol is pretty high at 14.5% but the fruit can carry it well so it isn't hot. Quite good balance overall. Tough to drink now. Leave alone for about three years before trying again but should be a very good wine.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

I saw the title of the thread and guessed there would be reference to oak

It's reputation precedes it!
Drink coffee, do stupid things faster
