WTN: Domaines Schlumberger Pinot Gris Les Princes Abbes 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Fri May 16, 2008 5:32 pm

Clean, spicy and peach on the nose.

Oily, quite rich, intense flavours. orange blossom, peach, mild bitter citrus rind, moderate acidity, medium bodied, perfumed, a candy-like sweetness that became rather cloying with time.

An odd finish: starting out tangy with citrus rind bitteness to be replaced by the candied sweetness.

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).

Domaine Schlumberger makes a Gewurztraminer that I really like. Have you ever tried that one?

No, but I am not a big Gewurztraminer fan. I find they can be quite overwhelming.
