2005 Peirson Meyer Chardonnay - USA, California, Sonoma County (5/5/2008)
Don’t know anything about this wine. It was a gift … and a very nice gift. The toasted aromatics were mixed with pears and cream. I had this over two nights and I really enjoyed this. Starts fruity and slightly sweet and finishes rich and creamy. With these two dimensions the stayed interesting. I am not sure it will develop into something greater but this is very nice. Works fine with food as well as a sipper on a warm evening. But the price would keep me away. (91 pts.)

2006 Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (5/7/2008)
By mistake I ended up with 2 extra 06 SCs, which I offered to pay for but of course the folks at KB wouldn’t have it. So I decided to try one of these a little earlier than I normally would. Enjoyed this with some friends so no specific notes, just my quick thoughts about what this juice is made of. Right now things are a bit monolithic. Tasty and sweet. Mid to heavy weight fruit with a touch of non fruit elements. Everyone really enjoyed the wine. A big pinot but not a monster. This is not a wine I would age but it certainly needs another 12-24 months and should hold just fine a few years beyond that. (90 pts.)
