Henri Bourgeois “Petit Bourgeois”: WTN to follow

by Josh » Sat May 31, 2008 12:03 pm

Local wine distributor sent this fluffy email. Just so happens I bought a case recently...will send along TNs later.

Anyone tried this? Around $15 wholesale

In celebration of the island’s favourite grape we are letting you in on a little restaurant secret. Café TEN & Bistro J tell us that the number one selling wine in their restaurants is Henri Bourgeois “Petit Bourgeois”, a Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards just outside the Sancerre appellation. That is why it is called a Vin de Pays, and also why it’s so pleasantly affordable. Its great value and delicious flavour will create a special place in your heart and a short resting spot in your fridge. Soon you’ll be carting bottles around to friends’ houses proclaiming ‘Petit B’ as your new best friend.

IMO all HB's wines are good to very good indeed. Haven't had this one for several years but I remember it as a straightforward, typical and very drinkable Loire SB with a good QPR.
