WTN: Castano Coleccion 2004

DO Yecla
Bodegas Castaño

A blend of Monastrell (80 per cent) and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Decanted just before supper.

Very dark purple in the glass.

Spicy, chocolate, cedar, red licorice on the nose.

Rich and intense in the mouth, smooth, raspberry and cherry fruit, medium weight, tobacco, red licorice, cinnamon, smoky, chocolate, a bit tangier than I recall a previous bottle being.

A sweet finish, with red licorice and spices.

Originally released at $22.95 (Canadian) in August 2007. I purchased one bottle in March 2008, on sale at $17.90. Purchased most recently at $14.85 :D
