IGT
Masi

A blend of Corvina (80 per cent) and Rondinella.

Decanted about 45 minutes before supper.

Very dark red in the glass.

Not much on the nose at first, then lightly floral, spicy with an odd stinky cheese note.

Rather fleshy and juicy black cherry, spicy, cinnamon, chocolate, tangy acidity, quite dry, with a strong bitter streak (which, not surprisingly, I usually find in a good Valpolicella). Rather tannic and hard at first but the wine did open up somewhat with time.

A bitter and mouthwatering finish.

Purchased at $24.95 (Canadian).
