Our visit to Paso Robles

by Tina L » Thu Jun 05, 2008 12:46 pm

I know its been about a month since we went. Sorry for the delay. First off we had dinner at the Artisan and it was excellent. I would definately go back. Its the type of place where you are there for several relaxing hours. We did the wine flight as well.

The second night we dined at McPhee's. It was ok. I would call it your basic steakhouse. Probably should have went there before Artisan

Stand out wineries/wine makers:

Halter Ranch (Ranch House Red) very good for an $18 bottle. We ended up with 4 different wines from there. They were very personalbe as well.
Four Vines: Pricey but very good. My personal favorite was their '06 naked chardonnay. At $14 a bottle should have bought more.
Norman: Also very personalbe. We ended up with their '03 cab conquest and '04 Zin called Mephistopheles.
Hunt Cellars: We bought 5 different wines here. One was a 2000 Tawny Port that we gave my MIL for mothers day. I'm not into port personally though.

We visited Tablas Creek, Summerwood, Opolo, Adelaida, I cant remember if there were any more.

We stayed at the Adelaida inn. Very reasonably priced. Quiet and clean.
