WTN: N.V. Gaston Chiquet Champagne Carte Verte Brut

by David M. Bueker » Sun Jun 08, 2008 6:38 pm

Celebrating the fact that I am home for all of three days, Laura and I shared our "house" Champagne alongside a meal of pork and spinach stir-fried with garlic, ginger & chile paste. Yum.

The Champagne is yum too. It's still quite young, but has begun to take on a touch of wheat bread nuance to complement the apple fruit. Lively and refreshing, it's a lovely wine for a hot summer day, waking up the palate and body.

Three whole days, huh? You seem to travel a lot more now than you used to--any hope that's going to reverse itself in the near future?

As I said in Chat - going to meetings and traveling seems to be my job.

This is an unusual stint though. I am normally gone about 1 week or so per month.

That's closer to what I thought. At least you drink well when you're home! I wonder how many others have a "house" champagne? Let's start a new thread.

I drink pretty well when I'm on the road too!
