Barossa.

Chilled for about 30 minutes before dinner.

Dark cherry red in the glass.

Raspberry, cherry, red licorice and spicy on the nose.

Very spicy, quite tangy, juicy raspberry, strawberry and cherry, red licorice, cinnamon, medium weight, a slight bitter bite.

Some heat and mouthwatering acidity on the finish.

For the first glass, the wine came on like gangbusters: lots of alcohol heat, lots of tang, and I wasn't really sure I would like it. With time, it calmed down quite a bit, keeping its tangy bite, but also highlighting the abundant fruit. Quite nice.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).
