Maipo Valley.
Very dark purple in the glass.
Coffee on the nose, roasted notes, rich black cherry, creamy.
Deep and rich, spicy, black cherry and raspberry, some green woodiness, tangy, chocolate, red and black licorice, slightly creamy and soft, good zippy acidity.
Drying and tangy on the finish.
The wine began the night somewhat poorly (a little rough, very woody and drying), but it opened up quite nicely in the bottle. A great find.
Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).
