They've hired no less than Frank Gehry. Pretty interesting building.

Flora Springs is doing a "budget Gehry" tasting room almost next door. (I actually love the old Flora Springs winery up on the hillside. Cool wine caves.)

Perhaps, following the ways of the Rioja wineries.

I think some of his concepts are more successful than others, but I like this one.

And I like his philosophy of creativity: "I don't know where I'm going. If I knew where I was going, I wouldn't go there."

I dunno. I'm sure I'll like the building once it's up and open but I also have this strong feeling that things in Napa have gotten totally out of control.

Anybody ever tasted a Hall winery wine? I've never even seen one.

First I ever heard of it was when my son showed me a Hall winery promotion brochure, which I suspect the Craig Halls sent to everybody in Texas with their surname. I didn't get one as I live in Seattle, just a few miles from Frank Gehry's unforgetable Experience Music Project, an unforgetable love-it-or-hate it building housing Paul Allen's rock museum.
