Anyone here try Hillebrand's "Artist Series" Seyval lately?

Hillebrand's Seyval of the "Artist Series" doesn't seem to be available at the LCBO as far as I can tell; maybe some of the wine rack stores carry it. But with Seyval being increasingly rare in Niagara, I was wondering if any of our Ontarian WLDGers have tried it recently. As I recall, Hillebrand could always be counted on for elegant, well made wines. I rarely make it out to the winery anymore, but remember with great fondness their Artist Series Chardonnay from a few years back - it was an immaculate, steely cool-climate rendition with a good whack of quality oak. I might get some soon.

Afraid not Paul. I recall I used to drink quite a bit of Seyval Blanc in the "early years" and, you are right, I haven't seen any on the shelves for quite some time now, in contrast to 10-15 years ago.

I'm quite keen on trying this, especially since so many 2006 Ontarian whites are proving to be wonderful wines. Will post a TN of course when I get a chance.

Have not seen it out here Paul B. That Sovereign Opal from Calona is selling well though.
