This time the article says its good for fighting fat ! Last week it was good for your kidneys, heart and bones.

Maybe an IV drip of cab is the answer, what do you think ?
Thanks,
Mike

Where is the Professor? (Mark Lipton, we're calling!)
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

There was more hoo-ha in the news here earlier this week .....
"Resveratrol, a nutrient found in red wine, keeps estrogen from causing breast cancer in test-tube studies"
http://www.webmd.com/breast-cancer/news ... ast-cancer

But this article is worth reading too.
It is headed "Anti-Aging Drug Stories Get Tipsy" and starts off by stating,
"Research on the anti-aging effects of resveratrol was widely reported last week, but headline writers and some journalists misled the public by emphasizing the compound's presence in red wine.

"Resveratrol, which -- at least in mice -- rejuvenates mitochondria and produces the same cell-level changes as longevity-enhancing calorically restricted diets, is indeed found in red wine (not to mention knotweed and white hellebore.)

"But to receive an ostensibly therapeutic dose from wine, you'd have to drink yourself to death"

Combine the required drinking of red wine to achieve health effects with the required chocolate consumption to get the psychedelic high & you could die really happy!

By the way, the comments about the levels of wine required to get a therapeutic effect is exactly what they should be saying about many of the things that cause cancer in mice. They dose the poor critters like foie gras geese on a feeding tube.

Hmm. Stuffed with wine and chocolate? Wonder if I can get in one of these studies.

Great topic, Mike! Since it is wine related, though, I'll move it over to the wine forum and leave a trail here in Friends & Fun.

It's not like the Thread Police are strict about it, Mike. ;) But generally, if there is some wine connection, the main forum works best.
