WTN: 2006 Fritz Haag BJS Auslese 06

2006 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese nr06:
The wine has a straw yellow colour. It smells like a ripe fruit bowl: stone fruits, apricots, mango. The nose is not really doing it for me, the ripe fruit is to obvious and it is a bit over the top at the moment. The taste I like better. It’s very sweet but it has a high “drinkabilityfactor” because the wine is very fresh with a great underlying acidity hidden behind all the opulent fruity flavours. This wine is not like some other 2006 wines I had captured by botrytis notes but it is nonetheless a typical 2006 wine. This wine needs more time and I’m curious what this will turn in to.

No shock that an '06 auslese would be a bit over the top. I'm hoping that with the healthy acids these wines slim down over several years.

Plus, with a wine like this, one doesn't have to worry about quality.
