WTN: Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Fri Jul 18, 2008 7:15 pm

WO Durbanville.

Very light yellow, almost clear, in the glass.

Pine resin, tangy and gooseberry on the nose.

Wow!! The sort of wine that literally slaps you in the face with your first sip. Pine resin, intense gooseberry, lemon, fleshy grapefruit, very tangy, peppery, refreshing and cleansing, with a real bite.

A long, peppery, citrus rind finish.

No wimpy Sauvignon Blanc this. Went very well with a spicy chicken stir fry.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $13.05 (Canadian) and a steal at that price.

Don't think so Bob. I often get a "piney" smell or taste in SB. Not sure what that's from.
