WTN: Robert Weil Riesling Kabinett trocken 2006

This was a nice wine with a few smoked local fishes, but didn't make me want to run around naked (which is good, since I have lots of neighbours)...

11,5% abv; 19,15€. I am not usually a fan of German trockens (except for Palatinates) even though those are mostly what I see in our monopoly. But this kabinett I found to be perfectly enjoyable. There was much ripe fruit so though it was bordering on the level of tartness that I find detracts from my enjoyment, it didn't cross the line. The aromas were of extremely pure Riesling fruit. Much grip, citrus, but also ripe fruit - it was also quite weighty for a kabinett. This wasn't the painfully austere style I too often find in trockens and all the pieces worked with each other very well. Very enjoyable.

That Finns have a habit of doing this, I think makes them all stark raving mad! I prefer to flaunt my madness in other ways.
