WTN: 2006 Hart Cellars Unoaked Chardonnay

by Cynthia Wenslow » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:14 pm

Delicious! Melon and pear on the nose. Beautiful light gold color. Crisp, tart, light on the palate with a lovely, lingering finish reminding me of green apples, with a hit of cardamom. Nice acidity! (Should I have waited to open it???)

Opened during chat, will accompany sauteed chicken breast and mashed potatoes for dinner.

Thank you, Howie! Are you sure you aren't ready to go into winemaking full-time???? I'd buy this!!!! :D

Unoaked chard! Always a sign of quality.

Cyn, I have heard this a lot of times before, and have said it a few times myself! Howie, bring a case to Mo'Cool and sell it at $20 per and I will take three!

Let the Howie Hart luv-in begin! The man knows what to do with his grapes. The unoaked chardonnay is extremely well made! Certainly worth $20 or more. You should have tasted his Cabernet Franc when he made it!
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

Cyn, I'm glad you enjoyed it. So far for this year, for the 2007 vintage, I've bottled Steuben Rose, Riesling and just yesterday I bottled the Gamay (57 bottles). That broken ankle in April put me way behind schedule, but I hope to have the Cab Franc/Merlot blend and both oaked and un-oaked Chards bottled before MOCOOL.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.
