Very nice Bourgogne level wine. Dark garnet in color, with a ton of earth and mushroom notes. Good acidity, but not over the top. No real heat on the palate.

This actually reminded me a bit of the Mayasara from Oregon last weekend-only with more cherry "Pinosity" such that I could tell what I was drinking. Very very earthy, though! I liked it quite a bit. $29 at Back Room Wines in Napa.

Went extremely well with the shrimp, crispy sage, and chorizzo skewers and pasta.
