I did a bad thing! Received a phone call this morning from one of the dealers that I know in Europe. He had received one bottle of Graham's and one of Ferreira's 1935 Vintage Ports, both directlly from the Port lodges. I bought them.

Alex,
No need to confess something that is a standard operating procedure for most of us.

It does if it's coming out of your own pocket....

Unthinkable to do otherwise! You would have been a fool to pass them up! We would have all done the same! God WANTS you to have those wines!

Either that or you need to speed up your drinking

My last purchase was a "box of groceries" mixed dozen from the local big wine shop:
3 x Paulett's Polish Hill River Riesling (Clare Valley, South Australia) 2007
3 x Heggie's Eden Valley Riesling (Eden Valley, South Australia) 2007
3 x Evans & Tate Margaret River Classic semillon/sauvignon blanc (Margaret River, Western Australia) 2007
3 x Houghton's White Classic semillon/sauvignon blanc (SW Western Australia) 2007

Old reliables, perennial favourites for informal home dining.

I've been practicing, but I keep running out of time. Work interferes with so many good things!

Me, too. I ended up with a mixed case and a half, but was still too slow for the Granite du Clisson (and that was before FL Jim's upgrading its stock to AAA). Since I won't receive the wines until October most likely, does it still count as a true confession?

Doug, Tell me about the 3 Rivers if you open it soon.

Pepperwood Merlot 2006
Kim Crawford Pinot Noir 2006 :|

Cantele Primitivo 2005 (not bad at all)
Breton Cabernet Franc 2006 (yet to open)

Bought all these as part of an attempt to teach my wife the difference between...well...you can see.

Vincent

Picked up another bottle of Chateau Redortier Beaumes-de-Venise Red. (Yum)
Alo, an extremely racy and delicious and cheap Touraine Sauvignon (label escapes me).
One more bottle of the yummy 2004Luigi Bosca Malbec "Reserve"

I also received in the mail my credit card bill. I have been an amazingly stupid and bad boy over the past year. Scissors were called for, and I conducted a little ceremony at the local WineStyles. :(

Probably a wise move, and at least you have plenty of liquid consolation (unlike say, if you'd spent it at the races.)

The wise move would have doing this five or even ten years ago. But...that's the issue with addictions and irrational behavior-one may realize one is being irrational, but...

Then again, my cellar collection wouldn't be as nice and i would not have had, for instance, that fantastic Robert Sinskey Magnum to guzzle! :?

I still have a much smaller limit card associated with my bank check account.

Just returned from a trip to Walla Walla, got to visit a dozen wineries or so and brought back the following purchases: Buty 2006 Columbia Valley Merlot-Cabernet Franc, Isenhower 2006 Horse Heaven Hills Wild Alfalfa Syrah, Morrison Lane 2005 Walla Walla Valley 33 1/3, Otis Kenyon 2005 Walla Walla Valley Matchless Red, Sapolil Cellars 2006 Walla Walla Valley Patina Vineyard Syrah and Watermill Winery 2006 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Enjoyed all of these and many more, however, budget and airline baggage policies caused me to adopt a self-imposed limit of six.
