Who all is staying at the Best Western at Whitmore Lake?

by Jim Grow » Wed Aug 06, 2008 1:52 pm

I have two rooms reserved at the Best Western at Whitmore Lake and was wondering who else is staying there and if bus transport will be provided both Fri. nite to Joel's and Sat. nite too.

I know some people discussed renting a van or something. I think this is were the esteemed Bob H (aka roomie) is meant to make a proposal. Maybe JB? It's only ten days away. Where is the excitement?

Jim, many of us will be at the BW in Whitmore Lakes. I had planned to go up a bit early to make some arrangements regarding transport. However, you do bring up a point needing addressing. I will start a separate thread asking for people to sign up for transportation to both events. I will contact the hotel for recommendations for transport and try to get a fair estimate of cost, and I will post those here.

I'm at Best Western. Thought the cabin thing would be great for Sat. night, but as I'm traveling solo that weekend, wasn't sure about working that out.

Can't wait!!

James, at the big (I know you thought the BIG was 50) 70, good words are hard to come by. Dinner tonight will be pork chops, on Hot Mama, in fact the whole dinner will be from Hot Mama. (except the wine of course). As I said pork chops, a melange of veggies roasting, including green and yellow squash, Texas sweets, parsnips, green bell pepper, and small new (red) potatoes. All slathered with evoo, salted (Kosher) and peppered, then doused with some decent but not too expensive balsamic. And, a couple medium sized sweet potatoes also roasted on Hot mama. She is awesome believe it. I am thinking a 2005 JP Brun Morgon old vines for the wine. The warm up wine is his Beaujolais white (read chardonnay). Dinner is at 6:30!

Cindy and I are at the Best Western also. We will arrive sometime Friday afternoon, probably between 4 and 5. Driving in, most likely in an SUV.

Bob, one thing to consider as an alternative to total transportation is the hiring of a designated driver or two. I have heard of such service in Cincinnati and was surprised at how cheap it was.
Cheers!

Mike the motel manager is supposed to contact me tomorrow, and I will try to set something up on Saturday.

Damn, my invitation must have been lost in the mail. I hope you enjoyed yourself.

I heard enough last year to qualify Beth as a golfer. I've talked a lot of golf with Bob and I know he spends a lot of time at a nice course. But I haven't decided whether he is a golfer. The fact that he never brings his clubs to the Cincinnati offlines makes me suspicious! And all his wine-buying trips to Party Source.....does he ever call me to tee it up when he is in the area? Nope.
Cheers!
