2005 Hungry Like the Llama

This is really turning out well. No reduction from the screwcap & a very balanced red/black fruit palate with some spice from the wood & reasonably tame alcohol. It was great with the picnic fare at our company gathering (as poured in secret from my backpack for those in the know). Yum!

David, what ARE you talking about?
I am not one of those 'in the know'.

I think he was referring to people at the gathering who were sufficiently 'in the know' to drink his good wine.

I, too, was puzzled, but if you look up Hungry Like the Llama in Wine-Searcher, you will find that there is such an animal (sorry).

A few folks at the picnic knew I had wine in my backpack.

David, I'm unfamiliar with this wine of Brian's. Is it pinot noir?

The Llama series (2003 The Llama, 2004 Llama Farm, 2005 Hungry Like the Llama) are all Pinot Noir blends rather than single vineyard wines. There was no 2006 in the Llama series.

Just yesterday I saw an ad in my local paper placed there by someone looking to trade a llama for a donkey. David, does this have anything to do with that? ;)

Only if they were trading a donkey and a goat.

Perhaps "Please please tell me now, is there something I should know?" would have been a good way to ask the question?

David, thanks for the update on this wine. I was under the impression for some reason that I ought to sit on these, but they seem OK to drink now, which I just may do soon.

We put llamas in with the livestock so that the coyotes will not be a problem. The llama would kick the s...out of the critter!
