Lovely Bourgogne. Nuanced, elegant & showing a fine perfume. This is a very nice wine. Alas that I only bought a few & they are all gone.

Alas, I too bought only a bottle or two of this stuff and drank it up awhile ago. It took me too long to learn to wait on those humble Bourgognes from quality producers (I blew through my Chevillons, too).

Anne Gros has a small and attractive bed & breakfast in the domaine, so we exchanged emails before my last trip. She was lively and humorous, full of personality. While she turned down (graciously) my request for a visit, saying that everything she makes is pre-sold, she said she reserves some bottles for purchases by guests.

I decided to hold a few bottles of my '05 Bourgognes (Chevillon, Arnoux...) so hopefully I will get to repeat this kind of result.

So I take it you didn't stay there? I also considered a stay there and, I have to type, easy access to popping bottles of her wine was indeed tempting. I haven't had a lot of her wines, but what I have had has been stellar.

I first read about her in a great entry on Bertrand Celce's photoblog, wineterroirs.com

Thanks for the link, very interesting, and corroborates my brief experience. I was tempted to stay there, but thought my first trip should be more, well, ecumenical. But I'll definitely consider staying there next time. If there is a next time, given that there are so many places I still have to visit for the first time, like northern Rhone, Piedmont, etc.!
