WTN: Prophet's Rock and Paul Pernot

2007 Prophet's Rock Central Otago Dry Riesling
Not bad at all and exceeded my minimal expectations. Crisp fresh and lively but with enough zest and texture to make it interesting and not just the refreshing aperitif squirt I feared.

2001 Paul Pernot Beaune Les Reversées
Drinks pretty well and much more mature than the big black block of the 99 Pernot Reversées Claude opened last December. This is supple and rounded yet crisp and with a focused presentation in the mouth. So, it may stretch out even more with time, but the tannins seems resolved to my palate and the flavors seem to be moving towards mature. That said I’m sure it will last for a long time and go through 75 more stages so far be it from me to predict Burgundy aging curves. But, it offered me civilized pleasure now. That much I know.
