Spinelli

Dark purple in the glass.

A rich nose, sweaty leather, earthy. The nose retreated a bit with time, becoming tangier.

Quite tangy, light to medium bodied, a fairly large bitter streak, tart cherries, an odd tomato-like note, leather, dry, somewhat sharp, almost thin at times, smoked meat.

Leather, earthy and quite tangy on the finish.

Not as good as I recall previous vintages being and not as big or rich as the nose had initially suggested. Also, not nearly as good as Spinelli's Terra D'Aligi, which sells here for $11.85. I now wish I had bought the cheaper one.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
