04 Echezeaux V.V., Mongeard Mugneret
A wine that has wowed me on part two of the Burgundy Tasting! It has a lovely blueberry nose plus sesame and toast oak in the slightly alcoholic nose which really stood out from the rest of the other three wines tasted . Lots and lots of mouthwatering acidity with noticeable woody tannin and rich fruit that is well mannered. Given 6 hours in the glass, the nose has become more integrated, delineated , deep and elegant and the oak has subsided to achieve greater overall balance. In the mouth, it has layer and layer of lush velvety red fruit and wood. The finish is no less wonderful, gentle yet with presence, extremely long and caressing which fades gradually and leave you into your own deep memories. WOTN

Great red fruit, alcoholic, smoky and muscular , structured yet with tannin that is with slightly rough edge. Nose is intense and palate is tightly knit . A nice and muscular Chambolle.
