05 Corton, Clos des Corton, Faiveley;

Shut tight as a rock for hours but the breed and depth was felt , gradually opens up after 'n' hours to let out a focused yet tightly knit nose made of some structured minty dark fruit and roast meat. We triple decanted it in bottles and finally the last bit at hr8+ shows a wonderfully rich and elegant palate with lush fruit , lively acidity and good dose of riped tannin accompanied by a very long, comfortable and balanced finish. Primary now but would gradually developed to become more interesting! Who has some of of it?? A great comeback! ***+ today with lots of upward potential.

95 Gevrey Chambertin, Lavaux St. Jacques, Dennis Mortet

Drinking the best at the beginning and is the most opened wine initally with ever evolving nature in the nose made up of cherry oak, then a bit plastic bag , then lovely rasberry , plum , wet stone and hint of violet all wrapped up nicely in an noticeable yet unobtrusive sesame oak in the background, which later on shows some turned soil at the end. An extremely inviting nose indeed! High acidity, focused in the palate with already melted tannin and some orange peel (gumgut) , leathery palate and finish! A superbly made GV indeed. ****+

03 Musigny, Jacques Prieur

Opened up in the decanter with loads of high toned sweet red fruit which is typical of that vintage plus some caramel. A bit one-dim at the beginning but goes from strength to strength like a Ferrari and added some complexity in time. In the mouth well integrated with acidity fell behind but not lacking, melted tannins, mandarin peel and plummy fruit picked up as well. Poised and sexy indeed! Gotta try their 99! Finally showed its full strength after "n" hours! ****

03 Meursault, Les Perrieres, Comte Lafon

What can I say, this one trumps from the beginning with a lanolin and honeyed nose yet so elegant at the first round, which shows more pear fruit, buttery and well integrated nose in the second round from the decanter! In the mouth, it is intoxicating , layered , honeyed with lively acidity supporting the wine. Finish was so elegant and long that left a creamy edge at the tip of the lips, lips smackingly wonderful! ****

Great wines are definitely rewarding with patience to let it open up!
