WTN: Pacific Rim Dry Riesling 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:26 pm

Washington (no other designation offered, although I did notice that the winery ownership is located in Califorinia).

Moderate deep yellow in the glass.

Petrol on the nose.

Quite tangy, lemon, lime, spicy, apple, lightly honeyed, tart grapefruit toward the end, petrol, light to medium bodied, rather intense flavours, mouthwatering and bracing. With time, the wine developed a hard-dirty streak that was rather off-putting.

A tangy, grapefruit rind finish.

An okay Riesling, but nothing out of the oridinary.

Wasn't this, at one time, owned/produced by Bonny Doon?

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Screwcap closure.

It was owned by Bonny Doon until a couple years ago Bruce, Don't rightly remember which conglomerate bought them though.
