2007 Keller, "von der Fels", Rheinhessen, Germany
The wines of Klaus-Peter Keller are characterized by their precision, clarity and refinement. The grapes from this Riesling “von der Fels” come from the younger vines or lower parts of the Grand Cru/"Großes Gewächs" vineyards Kirchspiel/Hubacker/Morstein/Abtserde. At the beginning a bewitching perfume of peach and blossoms. Then a creamy, mouthcoating fruit which reminds me on the Hubacker, mixed with the cool mineral elegance of Kirchspiel, power and depth of Morstein and the filigree of the Abtserde. Gorgeous QPR for 15-17 Euro and would easily outperform several Grand Cru Rieslings.
90-91+pts.
