Jacques and Francois Lurton

A blend of Grenache (60 per cent), Carignan (30) and Syrah.

Moderately dark cherry red in the glass.

Lovely nose of red licorice, smoke, spices, and a hint of chocolate.

Tangy, raspberry, strawberry and cherry fruit, dry, medium weight, red licorice, slightly roasted, good acidity. The wine started off rather thin and light, but with a short amount of time, gained weight, roundness and some complexity.

Tangy finish.

Quite nice.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
