Lujan De Cuyo, Mendoza.
Dark cherry red in the glass.
Roasted-charred notes and berry fruit at first on the nose, changing later to reveal spices and strong mocha.
Rather hard for the first glass or two, not showing much of anything, but opening up with time. Spicy, smoky, quite tangy light to medium bodied, blackberry, raspberry and strawberry, charred and slightly bitter edge.
An okay wine, but I would have been happier with a bit more weight and less tanginess and charred notes.
A tangy, drying finish.
Purchased at $15 (Canadian).
