WTN: Bodegas Muga Barrel-Fermented White 2007

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Sep 06, 2008 6:47 pm

DOCA Rioja
A blend of Viura (90 per cent) and Malvasia.

Light yellow in the glass.

Crisp, fruity nose.

Tangy, quite creamy, silky and round in the mouth, pear, lemon, apple, medium weight, crisp, mouthwatering acidity, spicy, rich, with a mild bitter streak toward the end.

Mouthwatering finish.

Have purchased, and geatly, enjoyed this wine over the last few vintages, although I found this one to be a bit lighter and crisper than previous ones.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

Thanks for the note. I have not seen the 2007.
