To give this wine's full name: Les Vignerons d'Estezargues Granacha Signargues Cotes du Rhone Villages 2006. Very dark. A bit of heat on the nose. Bittersweet chocolate and cherry liqueur. Lots of ripe fruit gives it some sweetness. Rather rich texture although it's just medium-bodied. Finishes with good length and some tannin. Straightforward and modern in style. Not much complexity to speak of. This is a really good drink now but should be better with another year in the bottle.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
