WTN: Alaskan Vacation TN - '04 Hexamer Eiswein

by David M. Bueker » Wed Sep 10, 2008 8:53 pm

2004 Hexamer Sobernheimer Marbach Riesling Eiswein (Nahe - Germany) Ap#17
Packed in our checked luggage, this eiswein made the journey from Connecticut to Alaska, to be enjoyed after a day of hiking & dog mushing.

Rich, fragrant, tropical essence of Riesling, with just a touch of honeyed botrytis. The acids give it framework, but it is unabashedly sweet, viscous & delicious. Try a bottle on your next vacation within spitting distance of the Arctic Circle (sort of)..

While you're up there, leave some Eiswein for Palin. It might sweeten that bitch up a bit!

I don't like liars, right-wing Christian fundamentalists, nor female pit-bulls. YOU have serious issues if you do.

Mark,

Agreed. I'm comfortable with that and any other 'issues' I might have.

I guess you don't like me Bill? Seriously, can't we leave the politics in the F & F Forum where it belongs?

David, I always love Rieslings in any of its forms. Thanks for the note. I can't wait for some pictures!
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

Okay boys, to your corners. And face the wall. :) I refuse to let you escalate this here.

Bill & Mark - thanks for ruining my attempt at bringing a little of my vacation joy to the board.

Jenise - We sort of went dog mushing. See below. You pay money & they use it as a training opportunity for the dogs (this is done at the kennels of the 2004 Iditarod winner).

As someone who actually lived in Alaska, you'd think I would have known how the dogs train in snowless conditions the rest of the year, but I sure did not. I'm very surprised to see a wheeled vehicle! Would that be called Four Wheel Mushing?

5-wheel actually. There's another wheel under the steering bar in back. It was quite fast, bumpy and wet.
