Wines with Sergi on an easy Friday night at Barcino Gourmet.

Emilio Moro Finca Resalso Roble 2007 - Some caramel on the nose. Dryish. Light, easy, well-balanced. 14% alcohol but certainly doesn't feel like it. A pop and pour wine for current drinking. Good.

Stormhoek Pinotage 2007 - Distinctive Pinotage rubber and varnish on the nose. Sweet and easy. Not for cellaring. A very friendly Pinotage. Pretty straightforward. Good.

Cruor Priorat 2004 - Quite dark. A little wet dog on the nose. Medium to rich body. Slightly tannic. Sweet, ripe fruit, mostly cherry and plum. Moderately complex. Pretty good now but slightly pricey for what it delivers.

Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

That's a really eclectic group of wines!

We had these with tapas - spicy chorizo, cheese croquettes, olives, manchego, small burgers (more like large meatballs) and ham.

These were samples of wines sent to Sergi for his possible importation. He wanted to know what I thought of them.
