2006 Edmunds St. John, Bone-Jolly Gamay Noir, Witters Vineyard, El Dorado County (12.8%)

This just arrived in the local market this week so how could I resist?

Both fresh and refreshing. Just a touch of earth lurking about. Not unlike a piece of tart strawberry-rhubarb pie. Not the longest finish but there is some spiciness that attracts. The bright acidity dances across the palate. This is simply a FUN wine and no need to ask for more than that. $13 before discount.

Well, I think the texture is probably a bit different, don't you?

Plus there is (hopefully) no pie crust in this wine! :D

Wine with the texture of strawberry rhubarb pie...quite a disgusting thought!.
